Future – must follow county subdivision regulations-located in the Clerk’s office
Lakes Area Property
The United States Army Corp of Engineers controls the property adjoining Lake Barkley.
There are strict guidelines governing the use of lake property. You should contact them for
information regarding boat docks, clearing of brush and permanent structures located
below elevation 357. It is a good idea to check with the Corps if you intend to purchase any
property adjacent to the lake.

Commercial
There is no commercial zoning in Trigg County.
A state building permit is required before you begin commercial construction anywhere in Trigg County. You may obtain this permit and all
necessary information from Cadiz City Hall. This permit is required for any commercial construction other than one or two family dwellings.
The state of Kentucky requires inspection by a certified inspector for this type of construction. You will have to submit your plans when
applying for the is permit.

Application for Building Permit
Frank Wallace is the commercial building inspector inspecting duplexes and multi-family dwellings.
Cost differs based on building type and size.
Steps to begin construction in Trigg County, obtain a plumbing permit from the Trigg County Health Department, hours are Thursday
7:30-9:30am 270-522-8121 ext. 5, cost varies, building lots must be at least one half acre for septic system to be allowed.
Obtain an electrical permit from City Hall if you live inside the city limits and from Trigg County Judge/Executive Office if you live in
the County. The cost of the electrical permit is $10.00.
